In Week 1 (week commencing Monday, 30 September) we are going to join in with the Charrette Week at the Architecture School, Newcastle University. This year, the charrette week will all be looking at different aspects of the High Street (it is my aspiration that there will be a publication from Northumbria and Newcastle documenting all of the work undertaken this year the “problem of the High Street”)
To participate fully in your charrette groups, you will have to complete a workshop induction at Newcastle University on Monday, 30 September:
Can 5th years please note that lectures at Northumbria will still be running this week – Architectural Research Methods (17:00 – 18:00 Monday, 30 September), Practice Management and Law (09:00 – 11:00 Wednesday, 2 October) and Cultural Context (12:00 – 13:00 Wednesday, 2 October).
I’ve also attached a slightly more full version of the brief / presentation, which maps the stages of the first semester project to teaching weeks.
If you want to visit the site ‘territories’ in the next week, then we’re proposing 5th year (groups) will look at Coatsworth Road to Saltwell Road, and 6th years can chose either the Coatsworth Road area or the zone around Felling High Street.
We look forward to working with you all this year.
Regard
Sebastian and Jennifer
