From Religion to the Everyday Life – the Renewal of ShiMa Town

The design is located in Shima Town, Fujian Province, China, which has a rich marine culture and makes its religion diversified. Through the research, 41 religious spaces were found which are closely related to the daily life of the residents. Their lives revolve around religious culture.

The project tries to classify and analyse the various religious spaces according to certain indicators. Starting from the needs of the city, moving into the community, streets and alleys with different levels.

It hopes to provide a template for updating religious space at other levels.
